King George V Playing Fields is currently undergoing a transformation thanks to funding from the Football Foundation. The Park is going to have at least 4 top quality football pitches along with 1 all weather pitch. Facilities will include a small community centre with refreshment facilities and football changing rooms. Currently the park offers a good vantage point over Worcester.
The park is also home to Brickfields Bowling Group.
How do I get there…?
Located off Ash Avenue off Brickfields Road.
By road
Follow signs for Astwood Cemetery, at the mini roundabout turn right (past The Chequers Pub). Go straight on under railway bridge, the park is on the right, vehicle access via Ash Avenue.
By rail
Foregate Street Station, follow signs for Astwood Cemetery, at the mini roundabout to right (past Chequers pub). Go straight on, the park is on the right, vehicle access via Ash Avenue.
Free car park within the park. Limited access due to current building works.
When is it open…?
Pedestrian access at all times. Vehicle gates locked at night.
What about disability access…?
Good Access. Main entrance has no steps but some paths are quite steep.
