A beautiful old ‘75 Daimler Fleetline, taken at the crossroads in Northfield in South-West Birmingham. I loved these old buses- they were in service up until the early 1990s, I hope they all went to good homes after being decommissioned.
The cars to the left are an early ’80s Austin Metro, and then a Range Rover. I believe that the turreted building behind is still standing; just to the left out of the picture stood The Bell pub, a mock-Elizabethan place built in Edwardian times that came down earlier that year. A new Bell was built on the site, in a vaguely imitative design that wasn’t a patch on the previous place.
