Making the mosaic at BBC Birmingham

BBC WM's Tony Butler adds a photo to the MosaicA great mosaic building workshop today at BBC Birmingham’s Public Space at the Mailbox, where members of the public and staff helped put together one of the panels that will make up the final mosaic.

BBC WM’s Tony Butler (pictured) was one of the first to add a photo and hopefully take his place as a World Record holder.

There will be another panel to help fill at the Public Space tomorrow (8 August) and plenty of other opportunities to help out across the West Midlands region. Find the workshop nearest to you here.

We (my son, daughter and I) visited the think tank yesterday and we helped to make the mosaic, we found four of the 600+ photos that I sent in and met Kerry and Abigail. I tried to get a clue (by looking at the colours) as to what picture was gonna win, but, I found no clue, it’s definitely gonna be a matter of perspective when viewing the whole mosiac. My feet were tired after walking around the shops in B’ham and then walking to the think tank and back - but it was worth it! I recommend any one to go to the making of the mosaic as it’s fun and much better than doing a jig saw puzzle.
