Your mobile phone photos in the frame
You don’t need an expensive camera to take great pictures or capture the moment — in a fact you don’t even need a camera, in most cases your mobile phone can work too!
Photos added to The Big Picture by MMS get added to our galleries and to the World Record attempt just like any others, but now you can see them framed and hung - in as special “virtual” art gallery.
The gallery is the work of multimedia artist Chris Garrett who says: “The Big Picture is all about the people of the West Midlands creating a gallery of their talent and culture, so what better way to display the high quality of submissions than to give them their own gallery? While a physical gallery wasn’t possible, we were still able to emulate the great feeling you get seeing your photo framed and hung on a wall.”
All photos sent by MMS appear on the gallery as soon as they get to us, you can walk into the past using the arrow keys on your computer keyboard.
To add a photo by MMS send it with BIGPIC first in the text of your message to 60300.
You can add a title if your phone gives you a Subject: field, and tell us a story in the text of your message (even leave your name). Texts cost your network operator’s standard rate. We may in the future use your number to send you free information about The Big Picture - you can text STOP to 60300 to stop those messages.
